Power thanks to Pilot Crushtec International

The constant pressure to provide thermal coal to Eskom power stations has seen a growing number of contractors turn to crushing and screening specialist Pilot Crushtec International to provide a solution that combines high volume output with the ability to meet the power utility’s stringent feed standards.

A recent case in point is the sale of yet another of the locally produced DoppiaTrac DR400 double roll crushers for use in processing run of mine coal from a large scale open cast mining operation.

The crusher was supplied together with a Sandvik QE341 mobile scalping screen, and the duo working in train are already delivering 300 tonnes per hour of in spec coal for consumption in Highveld power stations.

“The customer sought our advice from the recommendation of a sister company, which has already gained experience from using our equipment in similar applications,” says Pilot Crushtec International national sales manager Nicolan Govender.

The combination of the DoppiaTrac DR400 and Sandvik QE341 scalper have proved to be a productive combination, taking run of mine production literally in their stride.

“We introduced the DoppiaTrac as at the time South African operators did not have the ability to source a local product. The project to design and produce a local double roll crusher has not only met this need but created a product of choice accepted by the coal processing industry,” concludes Govender.
