Unique SA crusher likely to turn heads at major UK exhibition
Pilot Crushtec’s TwisterTrac AC210 mobile vertical shaft impact crusher,
the only production remote-controlled diesel hydraulic driven tracked
crusher in the world, is expected to turn heads at Hillhead 2007.
Considered to be the world’s largest working quarry show for the
quarrying, recycling and heavy construction industries, with 85 000m2
of showground space, the exhibition will be held at Tarmac’s Hillhead
Quarry in Buxton, Derbyshire from 26 to 28 June. This year more than 450
exhibitors from around the world will be participating.
The
TwisterTrac AC210 mobile VSI crusher was first introduced globally at
the previous Hillhead exhibition, held in 2005. This year, with 28
TwisterTrac AC210 crusher units now in operation around the world,
visitors to Hillhead 2007 will see refinements illustrating Pilot
Crushtec’s commitment to providing the most innovative equipment, while
continually meeting customer needs.
Mr
Paul Chappel, sales manager: exports, for Gauteng-based Pilot Crushtec,
said the TwisterTrac AC210 mobile VSI crusher has proved itself in the
most challenging applications and is now in operation in Australia, New
Zealand, Bulgaria, France, Italy, Spain, England, Ireland and South
Africa.
He said that since its launch improvements have been made
including:
a new colour control screen with graphics;
a C13 Tier 3 Caterpillar engine which complies with
the latest international emission level requirements;
a dust suppression system;
*
20 percent extra power to the rotor through improved
control of the drive system;
*
a jib crane added as a standard to all machines to assist
in replacing the rotor during maintenance;
*
and
the “Rock on Anvil” system an optional extra, as well as an open table
rotor to work in conjunction with the anvil ring system.
“At
Hillhead 2007 we will demonstrate how well the TwisterTrac AC210 mobile
VSI crusher performs in a variety of applications. People will be able
to refer to case studies including a glass recycling application in the
UK where the equipment is performing well,” he said.
“Our
objective, both at Hillhead 2007 and at this year’s bauma Exhibition in
Munich, Germany, is to show the TwisterTrac AC210 mobile VSI crusher to
prospective clients and improve our dealer network in the UK and
Europe,” he said.
The
company’s export drive started 15 years ago and, apart from Africa, the
main thrust has been into the UK and Europe.
The
TwisterTrac, designed by two of Pilot Crushtec’s engineers, has a
variable speed belt feeder, a Twister VSI crusher, a discharge conveyor
and a diesel hydraulic power pack, all mounted on a heavy duty track
undercarriage with dual speed configuration, and 25 degree gradability.
A
major feature of the TwisterTrac, with its modular configuration, is
that the entire machine is controlled via a PLC, which automates all the
crusher’s features and facilitates ongoing monitoring of all aspects its
operation.
