PILOT CRUSHTEC
ADDS PORTABLE CRUSHER TO BRO 605 RANGE
Pilot Crushtec has just launched its TM0605 trailer-mounted horizontal
impact crusher. This 30 tph machine has evolved from a skid-mounted
version, which Pilot Crushtec has been manufacturing for approximately
15 years.

Graham Kleinhans, sales manager at Pilot Crushtec, says that the
trailer-mounted horizontal impact crusher has been designed to suit
varied applications including glass and rubble recycling and ash, coal,
clay brick and rock crushing operations, where on-site mobility,
independence from a power source and a large feed size are required.
In addition to the BR0605 skid-mounted version and the new TM0605, Pilot
Crushtec offers its Rubble Buster, also fitted with a derivative of the
BR0605 crusher, which is a fully mobile, tracked, diesel driven loading,
crushing and stockpiling machine, aimed at the export market.
The new trailer-mounted version is extremely versatile, and is aimed at
new and/or smaller operators who do not have large budgets for capital
expenditure and who require small capacities. This includes small
contractors, site clearing and demolition operations and small aggregate
and sand suppliers in rural areas. Kleinhans believes that this unit,
which comes complete with a small diesel engine and is fully portable,
is a valuable addition to the existing range of crushers.
Mounted on two heavy-duty axles, the trailer has a front drawbar mounted
to a slew ring for towing. The unit features a heavy-duty chassis with
maintenance deck. The drive set consists of a three-cylinder air-cooled
Deutz D910L3 diesel engine, driving pulleys and v-belts. The Deutz
engine features a key-start ignition and a simple engine protection
system.
The crusher is equipped with a heavy-duty fixed hammer rotor, three high
chrome heavy duty blowbars, Hardox 400 Brinell liners and impact plates,
and a feed chute with rubber curtains. Its split and hinged upper
housing makes for easy opening. The rotor is capable of speeds between
650 and 900 rpm and is able to handle feed material of up to 350 mm in
soft rock and up to 150 mm in hard rock applications.
It is believed that the trailer-mounted horizontal impact crusher will
be particularly well suited to the African export market. The machine,
which is capable of handling up to 30 tph of throughput, is also ideal
for hand-fed scenarios, and where there is a great deal of manual labour
on hand. It could also therefore provide benefits in rural upliftment
projects.
“Portability is the major benefit that the crusher offers – it is diesel
driven, so there is no need for power to be supplied to site,” Kleinhans
states. The unit can be operational within minutes of arriving on site.
The very first of the units at Pilot Crushtec’s operation in Jet Park is
destined for Mozambique. Kleinhans comments that a great deal of
interest has already been expressed in this new trailer-mounted crusher,
and the company expects sales to be excellent.
