PURPOSE-ENGINEERED MOBILE
TWISTERTRAC IDEAL FOR CONTRACT CRUSHING
Pilot Crushtec looks well set to corner the mobile crushing market with
its TwisterTrac, which is the first fully mobile tracked VSI crusher
available both locally and internationally. Unlike many machines, which
are static crushers adapted for mobility, the TwisterTrac has been
engineered from the ground up as a mobile crushing solution.
Prima Klipbrekers, a large quarrying and crushing company based in the
Western Cape, purchased two TwisterTracs from Pilot Crushtec in the last
eight months for exactly this reason. “We bought our first TwisterTrac
because it is the only product on the market that offers this kind of
mobility,” states Gerhard Odendaal, operations director at Prima
Klipbrekers.
The company manufactures and supplies high specification base course
aggregate to civil contracting operations for road building. Odendaal
explains that Prima Klipbrekers carries out a great deal of contract
crushing for construction companies in a wide variety of locations
including the Western, Northern and Eastern Cape as well as parts of
Namibia. Having a completely mobile crushing solution is therefore vital
to the success of this aspect of the company’s operation.
Prima Klipbrekers took delivery of its first TwisterTrac in November 2005
and its second one in February 2006. “We ordered the second machine due to
our operational workload – there is extremely high demand in the market
for aggregate at present,” Odendaal says.
He points out that in terms of its functionality, the design of the
TwisterTrac is well suited to Prima Klipbrekers’ requirements. “The
machine is compact, lightweight and easy to move,” he notes.
In addition, he says that Pilot Crushtec has provided good telephonic
technical support, and has delivered parts promptly.
The TwisterTrac comprises a variable speed belt feeder, a Twister VSI
crusher, a discharge conveyor and a diesel hydraulic power pack, all
mounted on a heavy duty track undercarriage with dual speed configuration
and a 25 degree gradability.
The Twister VSI crusher produces cubical shaped, high quality aggregate
and sand that meets today’s demanding specifications in contracting, civil
engineering and construction projects. The machine has been designed to
minimise maintenance with its modular configuration, and has been tested
in harsh operating conditions to ensure that it is able to meet demanding
performance requirements.
